Ben Whishaw and Matthew Goode have been cast to star in Julian Jarrold’s “Brideshead Revisited.”
Pic, due to shoot later this year in Oxford and Venice, is adapted by Jeremy Brock and Andrew Davies from Evelyn Waugh’s novel.
Whishaw, most recently seen in “Perfume,” will play the alcoholic young aristo Sebastian Flyte, while Goode (“Imagine Me and You”) will play the central character of Charles Ryder, the Oxford student who gets entangled with the eccentric upper-class Flyte family.
The third key role — Sebastian’s sister Julia, who has a love affair with Charles — has yet to be cast.
Producers are Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films. Hanway Films is handling sales.
