Stony Brook hooks ‘Secret’

Film festival to feature U.S. premieres

The 12th Stony Brook Film Festival will feature the American preems of Ghyslaine Cote’s pic, “A Family Secret,” and Douglas Horn’s “Entry Level,” which played at Cannes.

Other highlights from the Long Island fest, which unspools July 19-28, include a screening of “Man in the Chair,” featuring Christopher Plummer. Two films starring David Strathairn also will screen: “Steel Toes,” directed by David Gow and Mark Adam, and Aaron Wiederspahn’s “The Sensation of Sight.”

Picturehouse’s “Rocket Science” and ThinkFilm’s “War/Dance and The Dog Problem” will screen.

Stony Brook U.’s Staller Center will host the fest’s 20 films.
