BUENOS AIRES — Eminem did it, and now soccer star Carlos Tevez will.
The 23-year-old striker who plays for Manchester United and Argentina’s national squad will star in a feature about his early years in the vein of “8 Mile.”
Argentines Gaston Pauls (“Nine Queens”) and Alejandro Suaya will produce the $2 million pic under their Rosstoc banner, with a script by Alejo Flah (“Vientos de agua”).
Buena Vista Intl. has slated the release for next December.
Story focuses on Tevez’s days in Fuerte Apache, the crime- and drug-riddled Buenos Aires slum where he grew up, through to his selection for top club Boca Juniors. The eight-week shoot will kick off in May.
