Actress set to topline indie project
Amy Smart will topline indie swing dancing project “Love N’ Dancing” opposite Tom Malloy with Robert Iscove (“She’s All That”) directing.
Trick Candle Prods. and Dolger Films plan to begin lensing “Love N’ Dancing” in July in Albuquerque. Producers are Robert Royston, a four-time U.S. Open Swing Dance Champion, and Sylvia Caminer.
Story, penned by Malloy, centers on a bored-with-life English teacher (Smart) who forms a connection with a West Coast Swing dancer and attempts to win the world title while overcoming obstacles presented by her workaholic fiancée and his former dance partner.
Smart was most recently seen in “The Way of The Peaceful Warrior” and “Crank.” Malloy starred in “Gravesend” and the upcoming “The Alphabet Killer”; he’s also been a personal student of Royston and taught swing dancing in New York and New Jersey.
