Slamdance sounds call for entries

Deadline for early submission is Aug. 27

The 14th Annual Slamdance Film Festival has announced a call for entries for short, feature film as well original pilot submissions for its 2008 edition, running Aug. 17-25 in Park City.

Deadline for early submission is Aug. 27. Final submission deadline is Oct. 9.

Slamdance will showcase 100 films, which will be announced during the second week of December. 

This year, Slamdance has added various categories: a writing competition for screenplays, teleplays and original plots, a $99 special short film production project, as well as a horror screenplay contest.

Fest alumni include “Napoleon Dynamite” director Jared Hess, “Batman Begins” director Christopher Nolan, as well as “Monster’s Ball” and “Neverland” director Marc Foster.
