Exec named director of development
United Artists has named Adelaide Scardino as director of development.
Scardino comes to the studio from TriStar Pictures, where for the past three years she was involved with development and production on projects including “Silent Hill,” “Running With Scissors” and “Premonition.”
Prior to that, she worked with the producers of helmer Mira Nair’s “Vanity Fair” and Mike Nichols’ “Closer.”
Scardino is “exceptionally qualified to bring UA the kind of filmmakers and material we’re looking for,” UA prexy of production Don Granger said. “Not only does she have worldwide production experience, but she has also forged significant talent relationships and has demonstrated a remarkable talent for identifying promising material and developing projects from inception to production.”
Upcoming releases from the Cruise-Wagner operation are Tom Cruise vehicles “Lions for Lambs” and “Valkyrie.”
