Scott Rudin has hired Mark O’Connor and made him VP of production under prexy Mark Roybal.
O’Connor, who will be based in Rudin’s Hollywood offices, had most recently been a producer. With jk livin’ Prods., he set up Matthew McConaughey starrer “The Grackle” at New Line. He also set “Captain Awesome” at Fox Atomic.
O’Connor, who began his career in the CAA mailroom and worked his way up to lit agent, also worked as an exec at Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. He also was an exec at 20th Century Fox, where he worked on such films as “Cheaper by the Dozen 2,” “Night at the Museum” and “Reno: 911! Miami.”
