Revelations Entertainment partners Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary have formed an international arm and tapped indie exec Ann Dubinet as president.
Dubbed Global Revelations, the operation’s designed to help the shingle produce films with global appeal through partners such as studios, financiers and key international players in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Dubinet will spearhead the development of the company’s equity and hedge fund portfolios as well as seeking international co-productions and banking relationships.
Global Revelations will introduce titles from its slate at Cannes. Dubinet will work with Revelations’ Tracy Mercer on the global production strategy for the company’s projects.
Dubinet was involved with the launches of “sex, lies and videotape,” “Drugstore Cowboy” and “The Basketball Diaries.” She was most recently prexy of distribution at Myriad Pictures and previously held slots as president and CEO of her own film financing entity, Alchemy Filmworks. She also headed the international division of Island/World and served as prexy of international distribution for Samuel Goldwyn.
Revelations recently wrapped production on Lakeshore-financed “The Feast of Love,” starring Freeman and Greg Kinnear and directed by Robert Benton; MGM will release the pic later this year. Revelations’ “10 Items or Less” was released theatrically by ThinkFilm last December and was the first movie broadband premiere through online film distribution venture ClickStar.
