Spendlove scores at studio
Randy Spendlove has been upped to prexy of music at Paramount Pictures, managing all music matters including film scoring, music supervision and soundtrack production.
He will report directly to Par prexy of production Brad Weston.
Top spot opened up when Burt Berman ankled as Par’s longtime music prexy to launch Village Roadshow Music Group.
Spendlove joined Par in 2006 as exec VP of music and creative affairs, overseeing a variety of soundtracks, including those for “Dreamgirls,” “Freedom Writers” and” “Shooter.”
Spendlove was previously prexy of motion picture music for Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s Miramax Films, overseeing film scoring, homevid music, publishing administration and film soundtracks for both Miramax and Dimension.
During Spendlove’s tenure at Miramax, the company received a Grammy for compilation soundtrack album for “Chicago” and an Oscar for original song for U2’s “The Hands That Built America” (“Gangs of New York”).
Prior to Miramax, Spendlove worked at A&M Records.
