The Netherlands Film Festival takes its hat off to Robby Mueller Sept. 26, handing the cinematographer a Golden Calf award.
Mueller has worked with some of the world’s leading auteurs, including Wim Wenders, Lars von Trier and Jim Jarmusch.
The festival said the award would recognize the role Mueller’s style and innovative working methods have played in international cinema.
Among world premieres at the fest, which runs Sept. 26-Oct. 6 in Utrecht, are “Nadine,” Erik de Bruyn’s first feature since the well-regarded “Wilde Mossels” in 2000 and “Waar is het paard van sinterklaas?,” Mischa Kamp’s follow-up to the successful kid pic “Het paard van sinterklaas” (“Winky’s Horse”).
Fest will open with the Dutch premiere of Jos Stelling’s “Duska,” a dark comedy that is the Netherlands’ entry for the foreign-language Oscar.
