CANNES — Spanish sales consortium Latido Films has licensed Australian rights on Dan Cox’s docu biopic “Running With Arnold” to distribution house Madman.
A shaded, sometimes jocular, profile of Arnold Schwarzenegger, underscoring his ambition, chutzpah, charm and connections, “Running” is set against his gubernatorial campaign in California. Narrated by Alec Baldwin, it played at the SXSW film fest.
Latido continues to roll out Carlos Saura’s sumptuous Portuguese song and dance film, “Fados,” which looks set for a major fall fest berth. Latest deal is with K Amerique for Canada.
“El cuerno de la abundancia” (Horn of Plenty), now shooting, has been pre-sold by Latido to CNC for Benelux. Pic’s director, Cuban Juan Carlos Tabio, co-helmed “Fresa y chocolate.”
Latido has also sold a 15-film package, including Andres Wood’s “Machuca” and “Arnold,” to Indian conglom UTV.
Cox is a former Variety reporter.
