SEOUL – “Never Forever,” an English-language melodrama by Korean helmer Gina Kim, is to get a North American theatrical release following a Toronto deal with Arts Alliance America, formerly Hart Sharp Video.
Pic, which preemed at Sundance earlier this year, will be jointly distributed with Korean studio Prime Entertainment in first quarter of 2008.
Vera Farmiga (“The Departed”) stars as a woman in a troubled marriage who starts an affair with a Korean man (Ha Jung-woo) as a way of escape. Pic was produced by Vox3 Films and Now Films and is repped in int’l markets by Prime.
Other upcoming AAA releases include “Chalk” by director Mike Akel and “Impossible to Forget: The Story of the 1967 Red Sox.”
Prime previously teamed with indie label ImaginAsian to co-distribute Zhang Jiarui’ “The Road” and Won Sin-yeon’ “A Bloody Aria” in North America.
