Kopelsons thrilled by Mueller pitch

Story seen as modern spin on conspiracy pics

Arnold and Anne Kopelson have made a preemptive purchase of an untitled pitch by Karl Mueller through their newly minted alliance with Equus Media Development Fund.

Project’s described as a modern spin on conspiracy thrillers in the vein of “Three Days of the Condor.”

Mueller recently sold his first spec script, “Shelter,” to Mandate, with Drew Crevello producing the post-apocalyptic thriller.

The Kopelsons made a deal earlier this year with Houston-based Equus Total Return for a multimillion-dollar fund to finance film development, enabling Kopelson Entertainment to move quickly in optioning books, scripts and pitches without an OK from a studio (Daily Variety, Jan 30). VP Ryan Engle developed the property with Mueller.
