New York-based Kino Intl. has acquired U.S. rights to Joseph Cedar’s Israeli war drama “Beaufort,” which won the Silver Bear for director at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.
Sales agent Bavaria Film Intl. has also sold U.K. rights to Trinity Filmed Entertainment and Japanese rights to SPO.
Movie is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by journalist Ron Leshem. Based on a true story, it concerns the mental and physical disintegration of the young commander of an Israeli military outpost in southern Lebanon in the months leading up to the withdrawal of Israeli troops in 2000.
