IFP has tapped John Sayles’ “Honeydripper” as opening-night film for its annual Independent Film Week.
Pic, starring Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton and Lisa Gay Hamilton, makes its world premiere tonight at the Toronto Film Festival.
The indie confab, which kicks off Sept. 17 in New York, will also feature the 29th annual IFP Market, a national program connecting indie projects with financiers, producers and programmers. Past projects include “Maria Full of Grace,” “Me and You and Everyone We Know,” “Half Nelson” and docu “Mad Hot Ballroom.”
Miramax’s David Greenbaum, HBO’s Nancy Abraham, Picturehouse Films’ Bob Berney, Wild Bunch’s Alain de la Mata and Endeavor’s Mark Ankner are among this year’s industry participants.
