GreeneStreet Films has optioned “The Contortionist’s Handbook,” a 2002 suspense novel by Craig Clevenger, published by MacAdam/Cage domestically and by HarperCollins in the U.K.
GreeneStreet optioned the book through its development finance deal with Sriram Das, who also will be a producer.
“The Contortionist’s Handbook” centers on an expert forger who adopts and discards identities while running from his past. Upon falling in love with a woman, he decides to teach her everything he knows and “disappear” with her under a new name — until he discovers she’s not who he thought she was.
Das co-produced “Blue State,” a pic written and directed by Marshall Lewy that just preemed in competition at Tribeca.
