New indie company slated for eight films
Newly minted indie banner Global Universal Film Group has secured a $100 million private equity deal to produce a slate of eight films.
Global’s signed actor Zack Ward (“Transformers”) to direct and star in “Frontman,” which he also wrote. Project will be shot entirely in Louisiana under a special credits program.
It’s signed thesp Sean Patrick Flanery (“The Dead Zone”) to direct and star in “Sunshine Superman,” which he also wrote.
Global has allied with James Paul and Cory Hudson, the production team at Hands Free Entertainment, to assist in producing the slate of films. It has secured distribution for their recently completed documentary, “Through Your Eyes,” which chronicles the lives of the only deaf/blind triplets in the world.
Global recently co-financed TV pilot “Head, Heart and Balls,” co-starring Adam Corolla and directed by Peter Foldy. A subsidiary of LitFunding Corp., Global is headed by prexy-CEO Jackelyn Giroux and chairman-chief financial officer Gary Rasmussen.
