Fox Atomic nabs ‘Don’t Lean on Me’

Jaffe pitch follows gym teacher turned principal

Fox Atomic has nabbed “Don’t Lean on Me,” a comedy pitch from scribe Ryan Jaffe, and set it up with producers Jon Berg, Todd Komarnicki and Matthew Weinberg at their Guy Walks Into a Bar shingle.

Fox Atomic topper Debbie Liebling bought the pitch as part of Jaffe’s blind deal with the banner, which is in production on Jaffe’s first script “The Rocker,” starring Rainn Wilson and Christina Applegate with Peter Cattaneo directing.

Pic tells the story of an assistant high school gym teacher with no interest in education who’s forced into his worst nightmare — a promotion to high school principal.

Berg and Komarnicki are producers on Eddie Murphy laffer “Starship Dave,” in production with Brian Robbins helming and set for release next spring.

Fox Atomic was launched last year as a division of Fox Searchlight to produce and acquire genre films for teen and young adult audiences.
