Focus ups production duo

Gerson, Plouffe promoted at film unit

Focus Features has elevated two production staffers as it gears up its in-house pipeline.

David Gerson has been upped to VP of production and development for U’s specialty shingle and Matthew Plouffe has been promoted to creative executive. Both previously served as assistants to production prexy John Lyons.

Both joined Focus in 2004 and continue to be based in Gotham.

The duo has worked together on several projects, including several the shingle is producing with Random House Films under their partnership. Gerson has served as creative exec on upcoming collaborations “Curveball” and “The Attack,” in addition to “Reservation Road.”
