BERLIN — “Reservation Road,” “Doomsday” and “In Bruges” have proved hot sellers for Focus at Berlin, with deals either closed or just being finalized across most territories.
“We’ve had a boffo market,” Focus Intl. prexy Alison Thompson said. “It’s the third market in a row when we had close to a complete sell-out, following Cannes and AFM.”
All three movies were picked up by the following: SND in France, Scanbox in Scandinavia, Odeon in Greece, Lusomundo in Portugal, Shani in Israel, Italia in the MidEast, Ster Kinekor in South Africa and Chantier in Turkey.
Concord bought “Doomsday” for Germany; Mikado picked up “In Bruges” for Italy; RCV bought “Doomsday” and “Reservation Road” for Benelux; Sun took “In Bruges” for Latin America.
Focus also sold “Evening” to Icon in the U.K., and “The Hitcher” to Movie Eye in Japan.
