First Look sells rights to films

Peace Arch nabs 32 features

Hollywood-based First Look Studios has sold to Peace Arch Entertainment the Canadian rights to 32 films, five of which will get a Canuck theatrical release.

Toronto-based Peace Arch will also handle DVD, video-on-demand and TV distribution on the five theatrical pics and release the remaining 27 on TV in Canada.

Tuesday’s deal follows a long-term output agreement signed in February giving Peace Arch Canuck DVD rights to all of First Look’s titles.

The five pics Peace Arch will release are “An American Crime,” starring Catherine Keener; “Smiley Face,” with Anna Faris; “Day of the Dead” starring Mena Suvari; “Finding Rin Tin Tin” with Ben Cross; and “The Amateurs,” starring Jeff Bridges and Ted Danson.
