CANNES — Endgame Entertainment will fund and produce “Every Little Step: The Journey of ‘A Chorus Line,’ ” a doc about the Broadway juggernaut.
William Morris Independent is shopping world rights in Cannes.
Shooting began in 2005, capturing auditions of some 1,700 actors, singers and dancers vying for a spot in the 2006 revival. The pic will blend that footage with behind-the-scenes material from the original production, which began its marathon run in 1975.
Producing and directing are James D. Stern and Adam Del Deo, who also did political doc “So Goes the Nation” and “The Year of the Yao” about Chinese NBA standout Yao Ming.
Stern has also produced several Broadway and Off Broadway shows, including “The Producers,” “Hairspray,” “Stomp” and “Legally Blonde.”
Endgame is an L.A.-based production and finance company whose upcoming pics include “I’m Not There” and “The Brothers Bloom.” It has also co-financed such titles as “Hotel Rwanda” and “White Noise.”
