DeVito to star in ‘Home’

Actor will topline indie comedy

Danny DeVito will topline indie comedy “No Place Like Home” for Capacity Pictures with Wayne Rice and Rich Heller producing.

Lensing will start Aug. 1 in Los Angeles with Sam Harper directing from his own script.

Story centers on a recently retired fireman whose plans for a quiet life are squelched by his unemployed twentysomething sons who still live at home. With his wife unwilling to kick them out, he kidnaps her so the sons are forced to fend for themselves.

Capacity Pictures was formed last year by Rice and Heller with the goal to produce and finance three to five pictures a year. Shingle just wrapped “Finding Amanda,” a drama starring Matthew Broderick and Brittany Snow with Peter Tolan directing.

Capacity recently hired Joy Waller as a creative exec and Mark B. Johnson as head of physical production.
