Jennifer Garner is feeling devilish.
Actress is teaming with Stuber/Parent’s Scott Stuber and Mary Parent to produce and possibly star in comedy “Devil in the Junior League” for Universal.
Garner will produce through Vandalia Films, the shingle she runs with Juliana Janes. Laura Hopper is producing as well.
Adaptation of Linda Francis Lee’s tome will revolve around a stuffy Southern socialite whose husband disappears with another woman — and her fortune. She turns to a lawyer who says he’ll help in exchange for helping his flashy, less-than-appropriate wife get into the Junior League.
Universal is picking up the project from Fox 2000. Garner and Stuber, who worked together on U’s “The Kingdom” (now set as a Sept. 28 release), decided to develop the project together, along with Parent and Hopper.
Also on Vandalia’s production slate is “Christmas in Connecticut,” “Be With You” and “Sabbatical.” Garner is attached to star in the “Christmas” remake and “Be With You.” Thesp is currently in theaters with “Catch and Release.”
Other upcoming Stuber/Parent films include one on the Fugees, a Georgia soccer club of refugees, and Neil Burger’s potential follow-up to “The Illusionist,” a contempo story about Gotham criminals banding together to search for terrorists.
