Columbia Pictures has optioned upcoming Antony Moore novel “The Swap” and will turn it into a comedy for John Calley to produce.
Protag is an out-of-shape comicbook dealer whose feelings of inadequacy flare up when he’s invited to his high school reunion. Murder, romance and the revelation of a long-held secret ensue.
Book will be published in the U.K. in June by Random House imprint Harvill Secker.
“When we came across ‘The Swap,’ we knew it was great material for a feature,” said Calley, who with Brian Grazer will next produce a “Da Vinci Code” sequel based on the Dan Brown novel “Angels & Demons.”
Lisa Medwid and Diana Napper, who’ll also be producers, brought the book to Calley.
