Actress hits campus for 'Sydney White'
Amanda Bynes (“She’s the Man”) will topline Morgan Creek’s college comedy “Sydney White” with Joe Nussbaum (“Sleepover”) directing.
Production starts Feb. 12 in Orlando, Fla.
Morgan Creek topper James G. Robinson is producing along with David Robinson and Clifford Werber; Morgan Creek’s Guy McElwaine exec produces.
Universal will distribute domestically, with Morgan Creek Intl. and Universal Pictures Intl. handling foreign.
Script by Chad Creasey (“Great Lengths”) centers on a college freshman who pledges her late mother’s once-dignified sorority, finds a new home with seven outcasts and attempts to transform the school’s misguided social hierarchy.
Sara Paxton and Matt Long also star.
Bynes recently completed shooting “Hairspray,” portraying Penny Pingleton. Nussbaum’s in post-production on “American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile” for U and recently sold his screenplay “Brad Cutter Ruined My Life … Again” to Warner, with Justin Long set to star.
Morgan Creek produced “The Good Shepherd” and “Georgia Rule,” which opens in May.
