Adrien Brody and Rinko Kikuchi are joining Rachel Weisz in Endgame Entertainment’s “The Brothers Bloom,” written and directed by Rian Johnson.
Brody will portray the younger brother in a conman team who falls for a mysterious target, played by Weisz, while Kikuchi will portray the brothers’ partner in crime who may be hiding secrets of her own.
It’s Kikuchi’s first project since she received a supporting actress Oscar nom for “Babel.” Brody recently completed work on “The Darjeeling Limited” and “Manolete.”
Endgame Entertainment is financing and producing with Ram Bergman. Endgame’s Jim Stern is handling producer duties and Endgame production prexy Wendy Japhet is exec producing. Project is Johnson’s first since helming “Brick,” which Bergman also produced.
CAA and Cinetic Media will co-sell the pic domestically, with the Weinstein Co. handling international sales at the Berlin Film Festival.
Endgame’s upcoming slate includes Bob Dylan biopic “I’m Not There,” which has been sold to the Weinstein Co., and supernatural thriller “Solstice.” Previously released films include “Proof,” “Hotel Rwanda” and “Lord of War.”
