Asian Film Market director steps down

No word on a possible replacement yet

Park Kwang-su will step down as director of the Asian Film Market, according to inside sources.

Park served as head of the market, which is held in tandem with the Pusan Film Festival, for its first two editions in 2006 and 2007. Organizers had no immediate word on a possible replacement.

A noted film director, whose most recent feature “Meet Mr. Daddy” won the Young Audiences prize at this year’s Rome Film Festival, Park will retain his post as head of the Busan Film Commission and pursue additional film projects.

This year’s film market, held Oct. 8-11, encompassed a range of industry events including the Pusan Promotion Plan, the Busan Intl. Film Commission and Industry Showcase, the Star Summit Asia, and the newly launched Co-Production PRO project mart.
