Exec new senior VP of business, legal

Justin Alvarado-Brown has joined Overture Films as senior VP of business and legal affairs.

Alvarado-Brown will oversee deal-making for Overture’s productions and acquisitions and run day-to-day business affairs. He reports to chief operating officer Danny Rosett.

Alvarado-Brown was most recently senior counsel for HBO, overseeing business and legal affairs functions for theatrical motion picture and scripted TV series projects. He began his career as VP in the business and legal affairs department at MGM Studios as lead attorney on numerous film projects.

Overture, which began operations last fall, most recently greenlit “Last Chance Harvey” with Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Its slate includes “Ferris Wheel,” “105 Degrees and Rising” and “Mad Money.”
