Producer agrees to two-year first-look deal
Warner Independent Pictures has inked a two-year first-look deal with veteran indie producer Anthony Bregman and his Gotham-based shingle Likely Story.
Bregman launched Likely Story last year after leaving production house This Is That. He was previously with Good Machine.
Deal with Likely Story marks only the second first-look pact arranged by Warner Independent prexy Polly Cohen since taking the reins of the studio specialty arm a year ago.
Last month, Cohen signed a first-look deal with Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa’s Bona Fide Prods.
Likely Story, partnering with Good Machine, is in post-production on “Carriers” and “The Sleep Dealer.”
Bregman’s shingle also is prepping “Synecdoche, New York” and casting “It Is What It Is.”
Bregman’s producing credits include “Friends With Money,” “Thumbsucker,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Lovely and Amazing.”
Upcoming releases at Warner Independent include “Introducing the Dwights,” “In the Valley of Elah” and “Rails & Ties.” It also has just acquired the distrib rights to Leonardo DiCaprio’s environmental docu “The 11th Hour.”
