Universal Pictures has elevated Holly Bario to exec VP of production.
Bario, who had been senior VP, production, has been a production exec at U for more than a decade, overseeing pics such as “Bruce Almighty,” “Meet the Parents” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”
She’s currently shepherding “Evan Almighty,” the sequel starring Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman; Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up,” starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl; and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” an Adam Sandler starrer directed by Dennis Dugan.
Production prexy Donna Langley touted Bario’s “firm grasp of all of the realities of development and production” and her relationships with filmmakers and talent.
Bario came to U in 1996 as Marc Platt’s assistant, moving up through the ranks as a director of development, VP and senior VP, production.
