Screen Gems has made it a definite “Maybe,” acquiring English-language remake rights to “Der Bewegte Mann” (“Maybe… Maybe Not”).
Based on Ralph Konig’s comics “Der Bewegte Mann” and “Pretty Baby,” “Maybe…Maybe Not” centers on a womanizer who moves in with an elderly gay man after his girlfriend kicks him out. He soon enlists the help of his new roommate and his circle of gay friends to win her back.
Robert Kulzer is producing the redo for Constantin Film.
Sonke Wortmann directed the original version that Bernd Eichinger produced. It made $46 million in Germany to become the country’s highest-grossing local film of 1995.
Project marks the latest collaboration between Sony’s genre arm and Constantin. That relationship began with “Resident Evil.” “Resident Evil: Extinction,” the third installment in the franchise, will bow Sept. 21.
