Publisher to print 12 million of latest “Potter”
Anyone wanting to buy the next, and last, “Harry Potter” book will have plenty of opportunities.
Scholastic, publisher of the franchise, said it will print 12 million copies of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which goes on sale July 21.
“Hallows,” the seventh and final book about the teen wizard and his Hogwarts friends, arrives in stores 10 years after the first tome, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” There have been 325 million copies of the series published to date.
On the film side, Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” will be released in the United States on July 13. Brit David Yates, known more for his TV work, will be directing.
The last Potter pic, “Goblet of Fire,” earned $290 million domestically.
