MGM has promoted Jim Orr to the post of exec VP, general sales manager of its domestic theatrical distribution operations.
Orr, who joined MGM in February 2006, has been serving as senior VP of the department.
He’s responsible for supervising the distribution of MGM’s theatrical films in North America, including domestic sales planning and execution. Orr will have oversight of sales activities on the UA release of “Lions for Lambs.”
Orr continues to be based at the studio’s corporate headquarters in Century City.
He began his career 17 years ago at Paramount Pictures, where he moved up the ranks to the slot of senior VP of domestic distribution before joining MGM.
