‘Transformers’ dominates box office

Rowdy robots nab $22.5 million on Friday

DreamWorks and Paramount’s “Transformers” made an estimated $22.5 million on Friday, pushing the tentpole past the $100 million mark for a new total of $107.4 million. Pic, directed by Michael Bay, is playing on 4,011 screens.

“Ratatouille,” from Disney-Pixar, made an estimated $9.5 million Friday from 3,940 engagements, upping the toon’s take to $90 million.

20th Century Fox’s “Live Free or Die Hard” took in an estimated $5.3 million for a new cume of $72.2 million from 3,411 screens.

Playing 2,604 engagements, Warner Bros. laffer “License to Wed” made an estimated $3.7 million Friday for a new total of $11.1 million.

Expanding to 703 screens, Michael Moore’s docu “Sicko” made an estimated $1 million Friday, upping total receipts to $8.8 million. Lionsgate is distributing the film for the Weinstein Co.
