‘Pirates’ hauls in $13.3 million

'Knocked Up' brings in respectable bundle

“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” topped the nation’s box office heading into the weekend with $13.3 million at 4,362 screens on Friday, off 69% from its opening day a week earlier, according to sources.

The third “Pirates” pic has cumed $186.7 million domestically in eight days and well over $300 million internationally in its first 10 days.

Universal’s launch of R-rated comedy “Knocked Up” followed with a respectable $9.9 million at 2,871 playdates for an impressive $3,457 per screen average.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Shrek the Third” came in third with $7.3 million at 4,109, down 49%, for a $235.4 million cume after 15 days.

MGM’s Kevin Costner thriller “Mr. Brooks” opened in fourth with $3 million at 2,453, followed by Sony’s “Spider-Man 3” with $2 million at 3,402 for a domestic cume of $312.8 million after 29 days.
