Writer's work includes 'Last Mimzy,' 'Strange Son'
Bruce Joel Rubin has been named ShoWest screenwriter of the year.
Rubin co-wrote the screenplay for “The Last Mimzy” with Toby Emmerich. The film, directed by New Line topper Robert Shaye, will be released March 23.
Rubin has several films in development, including “Strange Son” for Revolution, “Into the Light” for Fox 2000 and “The Time Traveler’s Wife” for New Line.”Rubin’s diverse and impressive collection of work truly exemplifies the range of his screenwriting abilities. The consistently high quality of his work makes Rubin well-deserving of the award,” said Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of ShoWest.
The largest annual convention for the motion picture industry, ShoWest will be held March 12-15 at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
