SAG makes Margolis main man

Producer set up for next three telecasts

SAG has tapped Jeff Margolis, who has served as exec producer of the SAG Awards since 1999, to produce the next three awards telecasts.

The 14th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Jan. 27.

Margolis won Emmys for directing the 1995 Oscars and for producing “Sammy Davis Jr. 60th Anniversary Celebration.” He has directed eight Oscarcasts and three Emmy shows.

SAG also opens submissions Monday for nominations with an Oct. 30 deadline. Following voting by two separate film and television nominating panels, nominations will be announced Dec. 20.
