Org to unveil best-of pick on Dec. 5
The National Board of Review will unveil its annual best-of movie picks on Dec. 5 and hold its annual awards gala on Jan. 15 at Cipriani 42nd Street in Gotham.
NBR members will screen more than 250 films for awards consideration this year.
Jesse L. Martin will serve as the gala’s master of ceremonies for the second consecutive year.
The 96-year-old NBR — headed by prexy Annie Schulhof — has no official ties to the film biz, and the group’s announcement of its annual best-of list is customarily seen as the de facto kickoff to kudos season.
