Marion Cotillard

Actress, 'La Vie en rose'

Paris native Cotillard worked supporting parts before nailing her star turn as Edith Piaf in “La Vie en rose.” The 32-year-old appeared in “A Good Year,” “A Very Long Engagement” and “Big Fish,” and co-starred in the first three installments of Luc Besson’s “Taxi” series. “La Vie” helmer Olivier Dahan co-wrote the biopic with little-known Cotillard in mind, and she seemed to become Piaf before our eyes, portraying the singer’s troubled youth and her frail final days with equal realism and power.
