James L. Brooks nabs Wilde honor

Producer-director to receive 'Irish in Film' award

James L. Brooks will be honored at the third annual “Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film” pre-Academy Awards party.

The event is hosted by the US-Ireland Alliance, a non profit organization whose aim is to foster strong relations between the US and Ireland.

Brooks will be the first non-Irish honoree in the event’s history. Past honorees include Terry George, Jim Sheridan, Van Morrison and Bill Monahan. Event is set to take place on February 21, 2008 at the Wilshire Ebell in Los Angeles.
