IDA honors Michael Moore

Filmmaker receives career achievement prize

Docu filmmaker Michael Moore has been tapped to receive the Intl. Documentary Assn.’s career achievement award.

Moore was first honored by the IDA in 1990 for his docu “Roger and Me.” Over the span of his career he has written, produced, and directed 15 docs.

“Our members are thankful for (Moore’s) fearless commitment to tell compelling stores,” said IDA prexy Diane Estelle Vicari. “He is a role model for young documentary filmmakers.”

Moore will be honored at IDA’s Distinguished Documentary Achievement Awards gala Dec. 7 at the Directors Guild.
