If the latest tussles over certain producer credits are any indication, Hollywood hates to share. And come Oscar night, there certainly won’t be enough gold statues to go around. The question is: How does one graciously extend the win when congratulatory handshakes become itchy fingers?
Last year, “Brokeback Mountain” director Ang Lee did the right thing when he allowed Focus Features’ James Schamus to grope the little guy. Good form dictates that you let anyone involved in the victorious film — from producers to costume designers — cozy up to the Oscar for a snapshot.
But when a comedy legend tries to playfully wrestle your prize away from you, just make sure it’s a photo op and not a thinly disguised theft in the Oscar night.
