DGA announces student winners

Victors are from various colleges

The Directors Guild of America has announced the winners of its 2007 student film awards for African American, Asian American, Latino and women filmmakers.

The winners are Ryan Carmichael (U. of Michigan) and Joe Doughrity (Columbia College Hollywood) for African American student filmmaker, Z. Eric Yang (Florida State U.) and Juli Kang (UCLA) for Asian American student filmmaker, Daniel Eduvijes Carrera (Columbia U.) and Vero Shamo-Garcia (USC) for Latino student filmmaker and Jesse Pilkes (North Carolina School of the Arts) and Nicole Haeusser (UCLA) for woman student filmmaker.

Receiving honorable mention nods are Nikyatu Jusu, Chris Cloyd, Clarissa De Los Reyes, Roland Nguyen, Jonathan Roessler, Miguel Alvarez, Catherine Rehwinkel and Thouly Dosios.
