Julia Roberts will be honored with the 22nd annual American Cinematheque award.
Kudos will be presented at a tribute gala in the Beverly Hilton’s International Ballroom on Oct. 12.
The nonprofit’s selection committee unanimously chose the Academy Award winner for this year’s honor.
The ceremony, which will be broadcast exclusively on AMC in December, has honored an actor, director or writer every year since its inception in 1986. Previous honorees include Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
Roberts presented the award to George Clooney at last year’s event.
Roberts was nominated for Oscars for “Steel Magnolias” and “Pretty Woman” and won in 2001 for “Erin Brockovich.”
Gala is the biggest benefit for the American Cinematheque, which owns and operates the Egyptian on Hollywood Boulevard and the Aero in Santa Monica.
