Israeli helmer Eran Kolirin’s “The Band’s Visit” snatched 13 nominations covering every major category at the Israeli Academy Awards, also known as the Ophir Awards, on Tuesday.

Other nominees, mostly drawn from Israel’s fest award-winners this year, include Joseph Cedar’s “Beaufort”; “Jellyfish,” which saw debut co-helmers Etgar Keret and Shira Geffen take the Camera d’Or at Cannes; “My Father My Lord”; and Ayelet Menahami’s “Noodle.”
The winner of the feature nod at the Ophirs, which will be held Sept. 20, is automatically selected as Israel’s entry for foreign-language film at the Oscars.
