Craig wins acting trophy at Evening Standard Awards

Daniel Craig took home his first statue for his role as Agent 007 James Bond at the annual Evening Standard British Film Awards. The “Casino Royale” star nabbed the Eros as best actor from a jury comprising of critics from the Brit paper.

“United 93” was named the best film of the year at the kudofest, which also handed out a prize to Peter Morgan for his screenplays for “The Queen” and “The Last King of Scotland.”

Best actress kudos went to Dame Judi Dench for “Note on a Scandal” and Sacha Baron Cohen took home the Peter Sellers comedy award for “Borat.”

The Alexander Walker Special Award was given to Stephen Frears for his accomplishments for “The Queen.”

The Evening Standard Film Awards were handed out at the Savoy Hotel.
