Lim joins Scorpio East

Conglomerate strengthens movie team

Singaporean company Scorpio East has appointed Lim Teck as its general manager. He joins from video distrib and edutainment specialist Innoform Media, where he held the same position for the past 14 months.

Stock market listed Scorpio East, which already handles Singapore distribution on behalf of Buena Vista and Hong Kong commercial TV net Television Broadcasts (TVB), says move is part of a greater commitment to movie making.

Company is already invested in “Red Cliff,” the John Woo epic that is lensing, and upcoming Donnie Yen actioner “Flashpoint” and has committed to invest further $5 million in production over the next two years. Local titles include “I Not Stupid Too.”

Innoform has itself invested in Kelvin Tong-helmed “Men in White” and Jack Neo’s “Just Follow Law.”

Prior to joining Innoform, Lim was for six years head of Chinese films at Shaw Organization and before that with Buena Vista on sales and marketing.
