Film Verleih, Madman pick up ‘Aachi’

'Epitaph' sells to Encore

CANNES — Korean sales and production group Studio 2.0 licensed its toilet humored animation “Aachi and Ssipak” to Switzerland’s Film Verleih Gruppe for all German-speaking territories in Europe and to Madman Entertainment for Australia.

Company also sold rights in four territories to horror pic “Epitaph.” Encore Films bought it for Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

The Farabi Cinema Foundation bought Iranian rights to the company’s comedy “My Captain Mr. Underground.”

Japanese company Nettai bought limited pay TV rights to three Studio 2.0 titles “My Captain,” “Season in the sun” and “Cello.”

Company’s acquisitions team also snapped up two forthcoming titles from Summit Entertainment, family adventure pic “City of Ember” and “Step up 2,” sequel to last year’s dance movie “Step Up.”
