Bollywood actor served 19 months

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has been freed on bail after serving 19 months of a six-year sentence for possession of illegal weapons.

Dutt was freed by a Supreme Court judge on Tuesday, pending an appeal against conviction.

Earlier this year, Dutt was found guilty of possessing guns that had been owned by terrorists who bombed Mumbai in 1993.

The bankable 48-year-old star had been in prison since Oct. 23, and also served time while awaiting trial.
